Housing Incentives & Funding Resource Guide

There are a number of exciting initiatives currently underway in the Region to promote reurbanization and the provision of a diverse mix of housing to meet the needs of current and future residents. Regionally sponsored initiatives include: the Regional Growth Management Strategy, the Community Action Plan for Housing, the Affordable Housing Strategy, and the Brownfield Financial Incentive Pilot Program. As a result of these and other initiatives, a need has arisen for ‘one-window’ access to a much broader range of housing incentives and resources. The Housing Incentives & Funding Resource Guide (the Guide) is our response to this need.

The incentives and resources identified in the Guide are a compilation of programs offered not only by the Region, but by other community partners, including the Government of Canada, Province of Ontario, Local Municipalities, non-profit agencies and private organizations. To make it easier for users to navigate the various incentives and resources, the information has been organized under three main categories: programs that support the creation of housing, programs for providing community support services/projects and programs to assist individuals/homeowners/landlords. The table of contents further identifies the programs by "type of program” to aid in identifying relevant incentives and resources.
