Spray Valve Replacement Program
The Region of Waterloo through its efforts to conserve water in the region offers a pre-rinse spray valve replacement program for companies with food services kitchens. This program provides free replacement of spray valves helping the company to save on water and associated energy costs, which in turn helps the Region achieve its water-saving goals.
A Region of Waterloo study concluded that replacing inefficient pre-rinse spray valves using hot water can save small businesses an average of 245 litres of water per valve per day or approximately $1,500 in water and energy costs over five years. Any restaurant or food service establishment is urged to take part. If you are unsatisfied with the performance of the new valve, your old one will be re-installed at no cost to you.
As part of this service, the Region’s contractor will replace any inefficient pre-rinse spray valve(s) free of charge. As a requirement of participating in the program, a participation acknowledgement form must be completed prior to installation of the water-efficient spray valve.
Water is a precious resource and the Region of Waterloo's Water Efficiency group is working with the community to promote personal conservation techniques and create an overall reduction in the amount of water used on a Regional basis.
