Community housing is rental housing that offers subsidized and affordable market rent units for low and moderate-income individuals and families who are finding it difficult to afford adequate housing in the private rental market.

If you would like to apply for community housing, you will need to fill out an application. If your application is approved, you will be placed on the Region’s centralized waiting list, which is maintained by the Community Housing Access Centre (CHAC). The waiting list will give you access to the community housing units offered by more than 50 housing providers throughout Waterloo Region.

You can pick up an Application from any of our Access Sites, call us and ask us to mail you one, or print one now from this website. Please return your completed application, along with the required supporting documentation to an Access Site or your choice.
