The 2010 Waterloo Region Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place on Sunday, May 16 at 2 p.m. at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 54 Queen Street North, Kitchener.

Please note that the Waterloo Region Hall of Fame building was closed in 2008 and the building was demolished in preparation for the new Region of Waterloo History Museum. The Waterloo Region Hall of Fame will be incorporated into the new museum - exhibits are planned to open in late 2011.

The Waterloo Region Hall of Fame grew out of a proposal in 1965 to establish a local Sports Hall of Fame in Kitchener. Prior to its opening in 1972, the Hall of Fame concept was expanded to include pioneers and community builders. The Hall of Fame is overseen by a Board of Governors with representation from across Waterloo Region.

More than 450 individuals and groups are recognized in the Waterloo Region Hall of Fame for their contribution to the community.
