Rear Exit Doors on GRTDesign element only following page title - no link  print friendly icon

Low floor buses without steps (Cambridge and KW service areas)
Low floor buses in the GRT fleet have two types of rear doors - push bar or motion sensor.

Push bar doors have two vertical bars. Wait for the green light above the door to illuminate, then push against one of the bars to open the door. Keep pressure on the bar until you have safely exited the bus.

Motion sensor doors are marked with a green sticker with a picture of a hand. Stay well back of the doors and wait for the green light to illuminate. Then simply wave your hand near the indicated area and the doors will open. The doors will remain open until the sensor detects the path of the door is clear. No touching of the door is required.

Always wait for the green light before exiting the bus!

300 and 500 series buses (Cambridge service area)
Only found on Cambridge area routes, these buses have rear doors that are fully controlled by the bus operator. The operator will open and close the rear doors when the bus comes to a stop. You do not need to touch the door.

High floor buses with steps (KW service area)
These buses have a pressure-sensitive mat at the rear door. Wait for the green light above the door to illuminate, then step down on to the first step. This will open the door. No touching of the door is required.
